By afternoon, Kwaku must decide what to do in that part of the farm. Leaving a real disease untreated could allow damage to spread. Applying the wrong product could waste money, expose workers unnecessarily, or obscure the symptoms an extension officer needs to inspect.
The mark alone does not settle the question. Similar-looking symptoms can have different causes, and a voice description may omit the detail that separates them. A farmer might describe colour, texture, location, recent weather, or how quickly the mark changed. Speech recognition can also mishear a critical word.
That combination makes a fluent guess especially dangerous. It can sound more certain than the evidence deserves.
What a safe voice reply should accomplish
