A routine farm question can change shape
The farmer’s first note may contain a familiar crop concern: damaged pods, spots on leaves, uncertainty about a product label, or pressure to act before the problem spreads. A reviewed answer can help with safe observations and next steps. It cannot fill a missing label from memory.
The later detail changes the case. Dizziness at home could have several causes. A voice system should not diagnose it, decide whether a chemical caused it, or offer clinical treatment. It should recognize that the conversation has crossed from crop guidance into a possible health and exposure concern.
The useful response is plain: stop the routine answer, encourage the caller to seek appropriate urgent help if symptoms are severe or worsening, and send the case to the named extension officer for follow-up on the farm side. The escalation record should preserve what matters: the farmer’s question, the product or label details if known, when spraying or handling may have happened, who is affected, and what the system did or did not say.
That protects the household from a confident but unsupported voice reply. It also gives the extension officer something concrete to work from.
The handoff needs an accountable person
“Contact an expert” is weak guidance when someone is worried and holding a phone. A pilot needs a named extension officer who receives escalations, owns the queue, and has a response-time commitment with the cocoa-sector partner.
This matters even when the first answer was safe. A farmer should not have to repeat a long voice note to several people while trying to remember what was said at 2:17 p.m. The handoff should carry the original audio or an approved transcript under the pilot’s consent and deletion rules, plus the reviewed content block selected before the case escalated.
